Octagonal softboxes, (sometimes referred to as “Octaboxes”) are especially popular amongst portrait photographers and cinematographers who specialise in shooting people. Octaboxes produce soft wrapping lighting, with natural-looking fall-off, which is very difficult to emulate using traditional rectangular softboxes. Since Octaboxes don’t have a long, straight edge, they produce a soft, wrapping quality of light, with gradual light fall-off from highlights to shadows. The reflective interior is designed to bounce the light around the interior of the softbox to maximise light efficiency. Dual-Layer Diffusion

The 95cm recessed octagonal softbox features two layers of diffusion, enabling the softbox to produce soft, homogenous lighting over the entire front surface of the softbox with minimal hotspots. They also help to reduce specularity on your subject.

Honeycomb Grid

This large octagon softbox also includes a 5 cm honeycomb grid (also known as an egg crate), designed to narrow the spread of light, giving you more control over its direction. Perfect for times when you don’t want the light to spill onto certain areas of your scene, such as the background etc.

Interchangeable Speedring

The 95cm recessed octagonal softbox features an interchangeable speedring, enabling it to be used with a wide range of studio light brands. If you want to use this softbox with a light with a different fitting, simply switch the adapter ring located in the centre of the speedring.
