Description

The FLS5 Large Godox Fitting Fresnel Lens (sometimes known as a Flooter) enables you to focus and amplify the effective output of your lighting by up to 19 times. The beam angle of the FLS5 fresnel lens can be adjusted, allowing you to either produce a small pool of light, or a wide flood of light, giving you access to a plethora of lighting options. The FLS5 large fresnel lens is also great for throwing light over greater distances, making it a perfect accessory for use in larger film and theatrical productions. There are also detachable barn doors available for it (sold separately), designed to control the spill and direction of the light, maximising light control. The Godox FLS5 fresnel lens is the perfect accessory for cinematographers, independent filmmakers, and theatrical productions, that need their lighting to be able to travel over long distances. It can also be used for stills photography, especially for photographers working in commercial, advertising, and fashion photography.

What is a Fresnel Lens?

The Fresnel Lens (Pronounced Freh-Nel) is a special kind of lens, developed by French Physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel in the 19th Century. Fresnel Lenses consist of a succession of concentric rings etched into glass or plastic. These rings use a combination of total internal reflection and refraction to focus the light, allowing it to travel over greater distances. Though the Fresnel Lens was originally designed for use in lighthouses, they have become a popular tool in the Film, Theatre, and Photography industries. Especially if you need your lighting to travel over large distances.

Add More Intensity

Due to the nature of Fresnel Lenses, the Godox FLS5 amplifies the light output from the LED light source by up to 19 times. This is great for when you need the light from your ML30 and ML60 LED light series to travel over a greater distance. Great for film and theatrical productions.

Variable Beam Angle

The spread of the beam put out by the FLS5 large fresnel lens can be adjusted anywhere between 10° and 35°, giving you the ability to either create a small, controlled pool of light or a flood of light in your scene.

Barn Doors

The Godox FLS5 fresnel lens comes with a detachable set of barn doors, enabling you to further control the spread and direction of the light. Whether you need a thin sliver of light or a wide flood, the barn doors will give you that ability.

Solid Construction

The FLS5 fresnel lens has been put together with durability and robustness in mind. Made from high-quality materials, the Godox FLS5 has been designed to ensure that any light leaks are kept to a minimum and are rugged enough to endure professional use.

Godox Fitting

The Godox FLS5 fresnel lens features the Godox bayonet fitting, enabling it to be used with the Godox ML-Series of COB LED Studio light.

The Godox FLS5 Fresnel Lens is a necessary tool for anyone who requires a focusable beam with extra light intensity or for their light to travel over greater distances. Perfect for cinematographers, independent filmmakers, or theatrical productions. It can also be used for still photography, especially for photographers working in commercial, advertising, and fashion photography.
